Terms of Use
Effective: 12 July 2026 · GutBasket Ferment Companion (app.gutbasket.com and its Android app).
These terms are an agreement between you and GUTBASKET FOODS PRIVATE LIMITED, Shop No. A-05, Vinayak Riverside, Opp. Shanti Botonica, Randesan, Raysan, Gandhinagar — 382007, Gujarat, India. By using the app you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
1. What the app is (and isn’t)
The app helps you make and track home ferments: recipes, jar tracking, reminders, an AI companion, and an optional wellbeing diary. Everything in it is educational guidance about food — not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Ferments are foods, not medicine. Nothing in the app is a guarantee that a particular jar is safe to eat: use your senses and common sense, and when in doubt, throw it out. For health concerns, consult a doctor.
2. AI-assisted content
Companion answers, photo assessments and generated recipes are produced with AI. They can be incomplete or wrong. Photo checks are a best-effort visual opinion, not a safety certification. You remain responsible for what you choose to prepare and eat.
3. Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and must be 18 or older. Keep your device and number secure — you’re responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account anytime in the app or at app.gutbasket.com/delete-account.
4. Your content
You may share text and photos (e.g. of your jars) with the companion. You confirm you have the right to share what you upload, and you give us permission to process it to provide the service (photos are processed in real time and not stored). Don’t upload unlawful content or other people’s personal information. To report a problem or objectionable content, email support@gutbasket.com — we review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts that break these terms.
5. Premium (web subscription)
Premium (₹499/month) removes monthly fair-use limits and is purchased on the web only. It auto-renews monthly until cancelled; cancel anytime from the Profile screen and Premium stays active until the end of the paid period. Safety features are never paywalled. Physical kits and refills bought on gutbasket.com are governed by the store’s own policies.
6. Fair use
Don’t misuse the app: no reverse engineering, scraping, automated access, attempting to break security or the access gate, or using the companion for anything unlawful. Free tiers have monthly fair-use limits shown in the app.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its recipes, content, artwork and brand are owned by GutBasket or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own home fermentation.
8. Liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GutBasket is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for outcomes of food preparation decisions you make. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
9. Changes & termination
We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be notified in the app. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India; courts at Gandhinagar, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction.
